Sometimes jumping straight away into a complex app like Adobe Flash can be a bit daunting, so instead we'll go back to examine some basic ideas about animation.
TERMS & DEFINITIONS (Please take notes)
- DOCUMENT - a new file (usually represented by a white piece or stack of paper)
- KEYFRAME - in an animation app, a drawing that forms a key moment in an action.
note: in more advanced classes you will learn that keyframe represents a more specific definition
- FRAMES PER SECOND - How many drawings are shown during animation playback. We will usually work at 15, 24 and 30 frames per second, with a drawing on every other frame.
- GIF - A document format that can play animation on most Internet accessible devices like phones, computers and tablets.
- TRANSLATION - to move an object from one location to another.
- ROTATION - to turn or change the direction of an object
- SCALE - to increase or decrease the size of an object
